Hegensberg is a district of Esslingen am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1312 as Hegnesberg and was part of Oberesslingen in the Oberamt Esslingen until 1844 . Hegensberg then became an independent municipality. In 1938 the Oberamt became the Esslingen district . 1914 Hegensberg was incorporated into Esslingen am Neckar.

The suburb of Kimmichsweiler also belonged to the community until 1913 .
