history

Neckarhausen 1683, forest inventory book by Andreas Kieser

The Roman road from Rottenburg to Köngen already ran through Neckarhausen. A Roman estate stood in the guise of a castle garden on the right slope of the Neckar valley. Neckarhausen was probably created from Nürtingen around 500 to 700 AD.

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1284. Until the 15th century the place was mostly only called Husen or Husen near Nürtingen . The name Neckerhusen is found for the first time in 1366 . In the second half of the 13th century Neckarhausen came to Württemberg together with Nürtingen . The Salmannsweiler Monastery (Salem) is proven to be the oldest ecclesiastical manor . Already in 1284 a Bertold von Neuffen sold his two fish waters in Neckarhausen to this monastery.

On October 1, 1974 Neckarhausen was incorporated into the city of Nürtingen.
