content
In 2027 Alex Rain works as a professional killer for the LAPD . Half human, half machine ( cyborg ) he is sent on the hunt for the "Red Army Hammerhead", a terrorist organization that wants to preserve the continued existence of the human race. When he is almost killed on an assignment and more and more parts have to be replaced, he gets into a crisis of meaning. He pumps himself full of speed and deteriorates more and more. But his boss Commissioner Farnsworth catches him in Rio de Janeiro and has him plant a bomb.
Alex is supposed to track down his ex-partner, the cyborg Jared, who is hiding on Java . She wants to sell information to the "Red Army Hammerhead". On Java, Alex gets caught between the fronts of gang boss Angie-Liv and his clients. From Julian, Alex receives the information that Jared has died and is only available as a file. Julian hands the chip with the data to Alex. At the same time, his client is himself a cyborg who replaces the real commissioner. Julian can attach a jammer to Alex that blocks the radio signals to the bomb. Alex leaves the hotel just in time, while Farnsworth kills Julian.
With the help of Max Impact, Alex gets to one of the leaders of the Red Army Hammerheads. It's Angie-Liv. But before he can explain his plan to him, Farnsworth's men storm the headquarters of the rebel group. Alex escapes with Max and now has the chip with him. Max convinces him to go to Yoshiro, another hammerhead who is hiding by a volcano. On the way they kill several of Farnsworth's men, but Farnsworth himself remains functional and pursues them as a robotic skeleton.
Together with Yoshiro, the three escape, but Farnsworth attacks Alex on the plane. Alex succeeds in destroying the cyborg and he himself is later restored. From now on he fights together with Max for the survival of humanity against the cyborgs.
criticism
“Elaborate, technically excellent, dark science fiction film, which uses its sources of inspiration u. a. ' Blade Runner ' cannot be denied, but is far inferior to them in terms of content. "
