Nemesis 3 - The Decision

Nemesis 4 - Angels of Death is an American science fiction film directed by Albert Pyun from 1996. It is the last installment in the Nemesis film series that began in 1993 with Nemesis .

action

The year 2080: the war between humans and cyborgs has calmed down. But the world is now ruled by large criminal corporations. Alex Sinclair works as a cyborg killer who kills her victims during sex.

After killing a corrupt priest who was involved in the drug trade, she sees a blurry figure that disappears shortly afterwards. When she reports to her boss Bernhard in New York City , he persuades her to get out after a final murder. Alex goes to Zagreb , where she can eliminate her alleged victim. However, it was the wrong person, the son of one of the top gang bosses. Her partner Earl Typhoon is ordered to take them out, but Alex manages to kill him. She is now trying to find out what's behind the matter. Here she meets the mysterious woman again, who is supposed to represent a kind of angel of death.

She elicits the information from another cyborg killer that she has killed the wrong man and that she is now facing a bounty of 100 million US dollars. She calls Johnny Impact, an old friend, who is supposed to get the bounty for her. Reluctantly, Johnny accepts the deal and the two have one last sex. During the act, the "angel of death" reappears, but Alex can shoot the woman. It turns out that it was a partner of Bernard. Then Alex realizes that her boss has tricked her.

Johnny calls Bernard and then brings him the partner's head. Then he shoots Bernard and Alex emerges from the shadows. The two persuade the dying cyborg to arrange for the bounty to be paid and then go into hiding.

background

The film was made during a four-day post-shoot of the film Ultimate Chase . As with Cyborg with The Alien from the Highway , director Albert Pyun used the set of the film with Christopher Lambert to close his nemesis film series. Andrew Divoff , one of the main characters on Ultimate Chase , also starred.

Except for the leading actress Sue Price , the film has nothing to do with its predecessors. The short running time is extended in the opening and closing credits by scenes from the other two parts with Sue Price.

publication

Nemesis 4 was released in Germany on December 23, 1996 on video in a heavily edited version. In the USA, the film was only released three years later, on April 27, 1999. An uncut version was released on Laserdisc and on DVD as part of the Laser Paradise nemesis box.

criticism

The film was mostly rated as poor. Reasons for this can be found in the miserable special effects and the lack of continuity to the first three parts, as in the previous films.

“The fourth part actually has nothing to do with its predecessors. The pointless story is more than annoying and the actors more than thin. In order to bring some pizzazz to the film, the leading actress Sue Price was made to do a few nude scenes, which is probably only of interest to a marginal group with the extremely muscle-bound body. Otherwise there are the usual nemesis action and shooting scenes that cause nothing but boredom. Final verdict: A more than unnecessary film !!! "

- Haiko's film dictionary

“A film without meaning, understanding and a functional plot, which should be compensated for by the bare skin of the muscle-bound leading actress. The result is yawning boredom and wasted time. "
