Ultimate Chase - The Last Hunt (Original Title: Adrenalin: Fear the Rush ) is an American science fiction - action film from the year 1996 . Directed by Albert Pyun , who also wrote the script.

The action takes place in 2007. The Russian state collapses. An epidemic that turns people into murderers breaks out. One of the infected is among the refugees who have arrived in Boston . Lemieux, Delon and other policemen are looking for him in the tunnels under the camp for new arrivals. Since he is initially underestimated, he can kill almost all pursuers except Lemieux and Delon. He kidnaps Delon, who kills him some time later.

Reviews

Kevin Thomas wrote in the Los Angeles Times on December 9, 1996 that the film was "a dull, apocalyptic would-be thriller". Pyun has almost no story to tell. Thomas only praised the “imaginative” camera work.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was "a headless, speculative piece of work that cannibalized the disintegration of the Eastern Bloc for its own purposes". He is "staging and acting on a breathtakingly bad level". Only the camera work is bearable, which, however, could not save the "bungling film".

The magazine Cinema described the "apocalyptic horror thriller" with the words: "Dull and boring the last crap!" The "scrap master" Albert Pyun created "another brutal, senseless action flick with a high disgust rate".

The film was shot in Mostar ( Bosnia-Herzegovina ), Vukovar ( Croatia ) and in a studio in Slovakia . It grossed around 37.5 thousand US dollars in selected US cinemas . The film was released directly on video in some countries such as Portugal and Germany. In Germany in May 1997.
