Nery Brenes
Nery Antonio Brenes Cárdenas (born September 25, 1985 in Puerto Limón ) is a Costa Rican sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .
After he was eliminated in the preliminary stages at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he reached the semi-finals two years later at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka.
In 2008 he finished fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia and came back to the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Beijing .
In 2010 he was Ibero-American champion after a fourth place at the World Indoor Championships in Doha .
Brenes achieved his greatest success in 2012 at the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul when he won gold in 45.11 s. At the Olympic Games in London, surprisingly, he was the last stop in the run-up.
