Neu Leipziger Glück was a treasure trove in the Johanngeorgenstadt mountain area in the Saxon Ore Mountains . On the middle Fastenberg , on which Johanngeorgenstadt extends, several pits were operated in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries for the extraction of directly adjacent ore veins . This also included the treasure trove Neu Leipziger Glück , suspected in the Crucis quarter (July 1st to October 1st) 1716 , which was operated until 1837. The origin of the mine is the Neu Leipziger Glück Stolln .

history

New Leipzig luck

In 1729/1730 the first shaft, the day shaft, was sunk ( 50 ° 25 ′ 51.1 ″  N , 12 ° 42 ′ 26.3 ″  E, coordinates: 50 ° 25 ′ 51.1 ″  N , 12 ° 42 ′ 26.3 ″  O ). From 1740 the treasure trove recorded a low but constant silver yield. To large Erzfund 1787 had trades Zubuße pay, then the accumulated until that debt was repaid and the pit gave yield . In 1796 the depth of a new shaft began, the Neu Leipziger Glück Treibeschachts ( 50 ° 25 ′ 53 ″  N , 12 ° 42 ′ 39.8 ″  E ).

In 1798 a horse peg was erected over the shaft, the penultimate one in the area.

The powder tower, also built in 1798, on the dump of the Gotthelf Schaller mine, has been preserved to this day at its original location on Eibenstocker Strasse ( 50 ° 26 ′ 2.6 ″  N , 12 ° 42 ′ 33.1 ″  E ).

In May 1800 the drive shaft reached the grace of God tunnel at 130 m . The mine brought out 7,140 kg of silver by 1808. After that, the deposit was exhausted.

Consolidation

In 1838, at Herder's instigation, the mine was merged with 6 other pits to form the United Field in Fastenberge . The Göpel was kept in operation until 1917.

Uranium ore mining

With the acquisition of mining concessions by the object 01 of the bismuth AG in 1946, the two shafts of the mine field were put back into operation. The day shaft as shaft 120 and the driving shaft as shaft 42. In 1949, shaft management 42/120 was assigned to object 10, which was newly founded on August 1st. In 1950 the shaft management 40/120 was dissolved and assigned to the shaft management 32/60 ( brothers Lorenz ). On November 1, 1950, object 10 was closed and the shafts reassigned to object 01.

The day shaft 42 is 75 ° tonnage , its shaft starting point is at 829.55  m above sea level. NN . Its deeper depth is 140.35 m. The drift shaft 120 has a barrel position of 80 °, its shaft section is rectangular with an excavation profile of 5.04 m². The shaft starting point is 820.62  m above sea level. NN . It has a depth of 64.62 m.

In 1951 the operation of both shafts was discontinued and written off on March 29, 1954 with the order 00231.

Reuse

After mining ended in 1917, the Göpel was leased in 1921 by the Saxon Heritage Protection Association , repaired as a technical monument and preserved as a museum. The last preserved horse goblet in Saxony at Wismutschacht 42, which is under monument protection, was demolished in 1948 by Wismut AG and replaced by a wooden conveyor frame with machine conveyance.

A true-to-original replica of this Göpel was made on the initiative of Christian Teller with funding from the Free State of Saxony on the 150 m south-west of the drive shaft of Hohneujahr- including Unverhofft Glück ( 50 ° 25 ′ 49.8 ″  N , 12 ° 42 ′ 33.9 ″  E ) built. The inauguration took place on October 30, 1993.

The Neu Leipziger Glück driving shaft was renovated in 2019 and around 15 meters of the shaft head was converted into a showroom. In addition, a memorial stone was inaugurated for the Schwibbogen Festival in December 2019.
