history

Beginnings until the 18th century

Neudeck (also: Neudeckh) belonged to the Hofmark Dieterskirchen. In the visitation protocol of 1582 Neudeck was listed as part of the Dieterskirchen parish . While Dieterskirchen was heavily devastated in the Thirty Years' War , Neudeck, which belongs to Dieterskirchen but is a bit out of the way, hidden between mountains and forests, remained unscathed. In 1661 Neudeck had two farms, an estate, a house, 10 cattle and a pig. At the end of the 18th century, Neudeck belonged to Dieterskirchen with five properties and belonged to the Horneck family.

19th century

At the beginning of the 19th century the state tried to simplify the administrative structure and - against the tenacious resistance of the owners - to transfer jurisdiction to the state. This process took place in several steps. Through secularization and mediatization , the fragmented territorial state structures and the differentiated structure of judicial and landlord assignments were eliminated and attempts were made to gradually reduce the rights of the landlord. There were older order Landgerichte formed.

According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Weislitz formed a tax district with the villages of Kiesenberg, Neudeck, Weislitz and Zengeröd .

For the initially existing patrimonial courts , regulations were enacted in the Organic Edict on patrimonial jurisdiction, which aimed to allow only larger and contiguous territories. In addition, every opportunity was taken to dissolve patrimonial courts and to transfer jurisdiction to the regional courts.

The patrimonial court Dieterskirchen and Prackendorf of Anton Freiherrn von Horneck in 1809 comprised the places Dieterskirchen with 43 families, Prackendorf with 29 families, Pottenhof with 22 families, Neudeck with 6 families and Stegen with 4 families.

In 1809 Neudeck had 35 inhabitants.

In 1820 rural communities were formed. This resulted in the rural community Dieterskirchen, which consisted of the villages Dieterskirchen with 44 families, Pottenhof with 21 families, Neudeck with 5 families, Kolmhof with 2 families and the desert Einödhof with one family.

In addition to the rural community of Dieterskirchen, there was also the small rural community of Weislitz with the villages of Weislitz with 6 families, Kiesenberg with 5 families, Zengeröd with 9 families and the wasteland Holzhof with one family. When Zengeröd was placed under the district court of Oberviechtach, the community members of Weislitz filed an application in 1845 to remove the village of Neudeck from the community of Dieterskirchen and to incorporate it into Weislitz, on the grounds that "Dieterskirchen was big enough anyway". The application was approved in 1846, despite Dieterskirchen's protest. So Neudeck came to the community of Weislitz.

In 1848 feudal privileges were finally abolished and the patrimonial courts dissolved. Jurisdiction and police power were thus finally and completely transferred to the state.

20th century to the present

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Neudeck was listed as part of the Kulz branch of the Dieterskirchen parish with 5 houses and 29 inhabitants. When the community of Weislitz was dissolved in 1946, Kiesenberg and Neudeck became part of the community of Kulz. In 1964 Kulz was an independent community with the towns of Kulz, Kiesenberg, Krähhof, Neudeck and Ziegelhütte. In 1978 Neudeck was incorporated into the municipality of Thanstein as part of the municipality of Kulz. On December 31, 1990 Neudeck had 28 residents and belonged to the Kulz branch of the Dieterskirchen parish.
