action

Stefano Nardini, aging punk musician in Rome , is taking an unannounced break from his long-unattended family in Rimini . There he is warmly welcomed, but notices changes: Stefano's sister Michela has dropped out of her studies in favor of a job in a dolphinarium . Her father Walter has completely transferred the management of the family-owned canning factory to Stefano's brother Alberto, who, however, led it to the brink of ruin unnoticed by his family in the wake of his divorce. Stefano is involuntarily involved in problem solving.

The three siblings try to get (former) acquaintances - the director of the local bank, the regional union leader and the aspiring young politician Paolo Guidi - to help, but fail because of their unwillingness or, in the case of Guidis, because of his apparent powerlessness. At the same time, Alberto seeks consolation from Nadine, a call girl, introduced to him as the cousin of his friend Carlo . He falls in love with her and even after learning about her job and the circumstances in which she met, he even plans to marry her. Michela and Paolo Guidi resume their previous secret relationship as they attempt to save the Nardini family business.

Walter Nardini, who informs himself about the company's situation unnoticed by his children, casually arranges possible financial support on the golf course. He advises Stefano to continue his own plans and return to Rome. Stefano leaves Rimini, but the further development of his music career and the family business remain open in the film.

Criticism and reception

Don't think about it received mostly positive reviews in German-speaking media. Die Presse calls the film “a small ray of hope in the last, rather dark realm of Italian comedy film”, while Der Standard speaks of a “pleasant surprise, a friendly film”. In the criticism of Deutschlandradio , do n't think about it is “not a big, but a thoroughly likeable film”, for the Frankfurter Rundschau it is proof “that family comedies can be the pinnacle of art if they are not produced by German television”. The Berliner Morgenpost states that the film is a "fine mixture of slapstick, melancholy and a wonderfully self-deprecating main actor".
