Nothing happened , the third studio album by German pop rock band Silbermond . It was released on March 20, 2009 on Columbia Records / Sony BMG .

Emergence

The recordings for the new album began in mid-2008. During this time, Silbermond also worked with Udo Lindenberg on his album Stark like two , in which they recorded the song The Deal with him . Furthermore, together with the rapper Curse, they recorded the song Until the End , which reached number seven in the German single charts .

As with Laut intended , Ingo Politz and Bernd Wendlandt were once again employed as producers. Then there was Thomas Stolle.

With Xavier Naidoo (for the song Sehn wir sich wieder ) and Jan Delay (for the song Not My Problem ), two prominent guest musicians could be won for the album .

On February 20, 2009 the single Irgendwaspton was released in advance . The single rose to number 1 in the respective single charts in Germany , Austria and Switzerland .

The album itself was released on March 20, 2009 and sold over 100,000 copies in Germany alone in the first two weeks.

reception

The opinion of critics varied.

Eberhard Dobler awards 2 out of 5 stars on laut.de and calls the musical palette of full mainstream rock and pop problematic for a critic with a lot of feeling. Nevertheless, he also praises the band's performance. However, he describes the song Not my problem as ridiculous .

Dennis Drögemüller awards 2 out of 10 points on plattentests.de and says that nothing really happens if nothing happens. He goes on to say that the 14 songs are characterized by an agonizing, tenacious void.

The industry magazine MusikWoche , which naturally presented new releases positively, emphasized the willingness to experiment, which is why Silbermond never before sounded “more exciting than in pieces like Not my problem […] or dancing out of line ”.

Kai-Uwe Weser praises the album on motor.de and writes that the strengths of the album are the new sounds and the mostly authentic lyrics.
