Nicholas "Nick" Drazenovic (born January 14, 1987 in Prince George , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and current functionary of Croatian origin who played twelve games for the St. Louis Blues between 2002 and 2016 , Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League on the position of the center . However, he spent most of his career in the American Hockey League .

Career

Drazenovic began his junior career in the 2002/03 season with the Prince George Cougars from his hometown in the Western Hockey League . He stayed with the club for a total of five seasons until the summer of 2007 and played 305 games during that period. In addition, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2005 in the sixth round in 171th place by the St. Louis Blues from the National Hockey League .

With the move to the professional field, the striker played for the Peoria Rivermen , the farm team of the St. Louis Blues, from the American Hockey League at the beginning of the 2007/08 season . The Canadian played there for a total of four years and made his debut for St. Louis in the NHL in the 2010/11 season . Nevertheless, the ways of the franchise and Drazenovics parted ways in the summer of 2011 , so that he switched to the Columbus Blue Jackets as a free agent . There he did not get beyond a role in the farm team in the following two playing years and only appeared eight times for Columbus in the NHL.

In the summer of 2013, the attacker therefore changed teams again and hired - again as a free agent - with the Pittsburgh Penguins , where he was again unable to assert himself. At the end of the two-year engagement, which was marked by injuries especially in the second year of the contract, there was only one engagement for Pittsburgh. He completed the remaining missions all for the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins in the AHL. After Drazenovic did not find a new team at the beginning of the 2015/16 season , he was signed up on probation by the San Antonio Rampage from the AHL in December 2015 , who extended the cooperation in January 2016 until the end of the season. The center forward then ended his active career at the age of 29 and was hired by his junior team from Prince George as Director of Player Development .

International

Drazenovic represented his home country in the Canada Pacific team at the 2004 World U-17 Hockey Challenge . The striker contributed five scorer points to the team's silver medal win in six tournament games.
