Nicolae Toader

Nicolae Toader (born July 24, 1927 in Răzvad , Dâmbovița district , † 1983 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician of the Romanian Communist Party PCR (Partidul Comunist Român) , who was among other things oil minister from 1969 to 1970.

Life

Toader attended from 1935 to 1946 the high school Ienăchiuă Văcărescu in Târgovişte . In 1947 he joined the then youth association UTM (Uniunea Tineretului Muncitor) and got involved in its office in Cricova. He then completed a course in drilling technology at the Institute for Petroleum and Natural Gas in Bucharest from 1947 to 1951 and was also responsible for social security for the UNSR (Uniunea Naţională a Studenților din România) at the institute. After completing his studies, he was a deputy engineer in a drilling technology office in Corabia between 1951 and 1952 and a trusted engineer in Ploieşti from 1852 to October 1953, and was also a member of the UTM area committee in Cricova in 1953. In October 1953 he became an instructor in the heavy industry section of the Central Committee and in 1955 finally also a member of the Romanian Workers' Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) . Shortly thereafter, he became head of the petroleum and chemistry section of the Central Committee's Economic Department of the Central Committee of the PMR and subsequently also completed various courses at the Ștefan Gheorghiu party college in Bucharest. From July 7, 1962 to June 23, 1966, he was head of the Central Committee's Petroleum Section and then between June 23, 1966 and March 13, 1969, head of the Central Committee's Metallurgy and Chemistry Section.

On March 13, 1969 Toader was Minister for Petroleum (Ministrul Petrolului) in the fifth cabinet of Prime Minister Ion Gheorghe Maurer and held this office until he was replaced by Alexandru Boabă on September 17, 1970. On August 12, 1969 he was also a candidate for the Central Committee the PCR and remained in this function until the XI. PCR party conference on November 28, 1974 . In September 1970 he became General Director of the Industrial Oil Production Group in Bolintin-Vale and then Deputy General Director of the Petroleum Center in 1973, before becoming Deputy General Director of the Autonomous General Directorate for Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Ministry of Mining, Petroleum and Geology in 1974. He held this post until his death in 1983.

For his services he was awarded the Ordinul Muncii (Order of Labor) Third Class and Ordinul 23 August ( Order 23 August ) Fourth Class (1966).
