Nicolas Lhernould

Nicolas Lhernould (born March 23, 1975 in Courbevoie , France ) is a French clergyman and appointed Roman Catholic Bishop of Constantine .

Life

Nicolas Lhernould graduated from the University of Paris-Nanterre with a degree in sociology in 1995 and a master's degree in econometrics in 1996 . In 1999 he entered the Pontifical French Seminary and began studying Catholic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University , which he completed in 2003. Lhernould received in on 22 May 2004 Tunis , the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 2006 he obtained his licentiate in patristic studies at the Pontifical Patristic Institute Augustinianum with a thesis on the homilies of Fulgentius von Ruspe .

After returning to his diocese , Nicolas Lhernould served as pastor in Sousse , Monastir and Mahdia before he became pastor of the parish of Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc in Tunis and vicar general of the Archdiocese of Tunis in 2012 . From 2009 to 2014 he was also President of the Association of the Carthage Study Center .

On December 9, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Constantine.
