The Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn T 1 railcar was a vehicle of the Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn . It was put into service by the company in 1934 as a four-axle railcar together with a two-axle vehicle from Christoph & Unmack ( Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn T 2 ) for passenger transport . The vehicle was taken over by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1949 and was given the designation VT 137 559 there . It was retired in 1967 and is no longer available today.

history

After the Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn company had tried a four-axle railcar with 90 hp as early as 1914, this railcar was used again in 1934 to motorize its route network. The railcar was procured together with the T 2 and was intended by the company for multiple control with the second railcar. The aim was to shorten travel times by 20%. The power of the railcar was designed so that it could take two light passenger cars with it in single traffic.

The railcar proved itself very well. Due to the company's low financial cushion, it was only able to procure additional railcars in 1935. The railcar was run in the Reichsbahndirektion Berlin until 1950 . He was stationed on 1 January 1955 in the Reichsbahn Berlin, on 1 January 1960 at the Bw Berlin-Karlshorst . His last place of work is said to have been Templin . In 1967 the car was taken out of service.

Constructive features
