Niedercunnersdorf is a part of the municipality of Kottmar in the district of Görlitz . The district is located in the valley of the Cunnersdorfer water .

Local division
Before its incorporation, the place was divided into Niedercunnersdorf and Ottenhain as well as the two parts of the municipality Neucunnersdorf and Sonneberg.
history
Niedercunnersdorf, like the neighboring municipality of Obercunnersdorf, was first mentioned in a document from 1221.
Ottenhain was first mentioned in 1317. On January 1, 1999, the place was incorporated into the former municipality. Before incorporation into the new municipality of Kottmar, Niedercunnersdorf formed the administrative community with Obercunnersdorf. On January 1, 2013, the municipalities of Obercunnersdorf, Niedercunnersdorf, Kottmarsdorf and Eibau merged to form the new municipality of Kottmar.

Regular events
The annual "Cunnerschdurfer Schiss'n" is a folk festival comparable to the Jacobimarkt in Neugersdorf , the tradition of which goes back to 1839. It has around 20,000 visitors annually.

Niedercunnersdorf station is on the Zittau – Löbau railway line ; however, only freight trains run here.
