The Nigerian national futsal team is a representative sample of Nigerian futsal players . The team represents the Nigerian Football Association at international matches. The team took part in the World Cup finals in 1992, but did not reappear until 2008.

Performing in tournaments

At the invitation of FIFA, Nigeria was the only African representative to take part in the 1992 Futsal World Cup, where the team did not win points against Argentina, Poland and hosts Hong Kong. The team consisted of numerous football (junior) national players active in Nigeria such as William Okpara , Abiodun Idowu , Christian Obi and Bawa Abdullahi . It was not until 2008 that the national team played official games again as part of the 2008 African Futsal Championship . In the group stage comprising five teams, they finished third and thus missed the semi-finals. In 2012, as part of the qualification for the 2012 World Cup, another game was played when they reached the final round without a fight. After a 2: 8 defeat against Egypt, however, they withdrew from the competition.
