Nightmare is the fifth studio album by the metal band Avenged Sevenfold , which was released on July 27, 2010 through Warner Bros. Records . In Germany, however, the album was released a month later due to the band's label change.

It was produced by Mike Elizondo and mixed in New York City by sound engineer Andy Wallace . It is the last album with drummer and founding member James "The Rev" Sullivan , who passed away in December 2009. Was replaced temporarily by the former drummer of Dream Theater , Mike Portnoy has recorded who could no longer the remaining songs that Sullivan record. He also went on tour with Avenged Sevenfold until the end of 2010.
