Nikolai Vladimirovich Fomenko
Nikolai Wladimirowitsch Fomenko ( Russian: Николай Владимирович Фоменко ; born April 30, 1962 in Leningrad ) is a Russian actor , musician, entrepreneur, motorsport engineer and official as well as a former racing driver .

Nikolai Fomenko trained as an actor in Leningrad in the 1970s. He had his first engagement between 1974 and 1976 in the Theater of Youth Creativity . After that, in addition to appearances in various theaters , there were also roles in Russian film productions . Fomenko also worked as a presenter for Russian television companies. He hosted the Russian version of the The Weakest Link and since 2009 Top Gear Russia , an offshoot of the BBC telecast Top Gear .
Musician
Nikolai Fomenko was a founding member of the Russian rock band Secret , which first appeared in 1982. Fomenko was the singer and guitarist of the band and is still active there with interruptions.
Marussia Motors and Marussia F1 Team
In 2007 Fomenko founded Marussia Motors together with partners . The Moscow- based company set itself the goal of manufacturing luxury-class sports cars. In addition to two sports cars, the Marussia B1 (2008) and the B2 (2009), an SUV was also presented in 2010 . There was no production. In 2014, the company filed for bankruptcy and operations were closed.
At the end of the 2010 Formula 1 season , at the last race of the year, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix , Marussia Motors acquired a significant stake in Virgin Racing . In February 2011, Fomenko took over the role of senior engineer in the team, which is now called Marussia F1 Racing , and held this position until the team went bankrupt at the end of 2014.
Racing career
Between 2000 and 2005, Nikolai Fomenko was also active as a driver. He had the majority of his 70 race starts in the FIA GT Championship , where his best overall ranking was seventh in the 2014 N-GT class . He contested the Le Mans 24-hour race twice and the Sebring 12-hour race once . In Le Mans, the best result was 17th in 2005 . In Sebring in 2003 he was not included in the ranking.
