Nikolaus Ferber

Nikolaus Ferber (* around 1483 in Herborn ; † April 15, 1535 in Toulouse ), also Nikolaus von Herborn , was a controversial theologian and a member of the Franciscan order .

He entered the Franciscan order and studied in Cologne. Around 1520 he was guardian of the convent in Marburg and appeared in 1526 at the Homberg Synod in a disputation against the Protestant theologian Franz Lambert von Avignon . From 1527 he was guardian in Brühl and cathedral preacher at Cologne Cathedral , from 1529 to 1532 provincial of the Cologne order province . He was a staunch opponent of the Reformation .
