Nikolaus Haas

Nikolaus Haas (born July 16, 1779 in Höchstadt an der Aisch ; † August 1, 1855 in Bamberg ) was a Catholic clergyman , historian , member of the state parliament and deputy for the assembly of estates .

Life

After his ordination on June 4, 1803 in Würzburg , he was appointed chaplain in Burgebrach . From 1812 he was a teacher at the teachers' college in Bamberg and from 1823 to 1833 pastor in Scheßlitz . In 1833 he received the parish of St. Martin in Bamberg, which he kept until his death. As a historian, he appeared in many publications. Nikolaus Haas was a member of the Bavarian state parliament and in 1836 became a deputy of the clergy of the Obermain and Rezat districts for the assembly of estates. From 1820 he was a corresponding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences .
