Noel Malicdem (born January 10, 1977 in Quezon City ) is a Filipino darts player .

Career

Noel Malicdem caused a stir in 2017 when he reached the round of 16 of the Malaysian Open . The following year he played the whole season on the newly founded PDC Asian Tour , through which four Asian representatives for the world championship are determined. In his first tournament he reached the final, which he lost to Royden Lam , but he was able to finish the second leg with a nine dart finish . With two tournament wins on the Asian Tour, including against Paul Lim in a final, he finished the tour in the top four and was therefore qualified for the 2019 World Cup. In the first round he was able to win 3-2 against the Dutchman Jeffrey de Graaf . However, against Kyle Anderson from Australia he lost 3-1 in the second round. At the World Cup of Darts 2019 he joined Lourence Ilagan for the Philippines , but the duo lost to England, represented by Rob Cross and Michael Smith, with 1: 5. He was also able to qualify for the 2020 World Cup via the Asian Tour. This time he was able to win his game in the first round, his opponent was the Austrian Rowby-John Rodriguez . In the second round, Malicdem was able to keep up with the favored Scot and later world champion Peter Wright . Malicdem even had a match dart on the bullseye, which he missed. Wrigth saved himself with a 140 finish in the Sudden Death Leg, which he eventually won.
