history

In 1950, the lawyer Eduard Oehl opened a law firm in Munich . In 1956 Rudolf Nörr joined the firm as a partner, in 1959 Alfred Stiefenhofer. From 1983 the partnership operated under the name of the senior partner as "Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz". Ulrich Lutz was accepted into the firm in 1969. When the national law firm became legal in Germany in 1989, the partnership opened an office in Frankfurt am Main . After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the law firm founded an office in Dresden in spring 1990 , making it the first West German law firm to open a location in East Germany. In the same year - again as the first law firm - offices were opened in Budapest and Prague . The strategic expansion towards Eastern Europe was continued with Warsaw (1992); a year later the office was opened on Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin . In 1994 an office was opened in Moscow . Further start-ups followed in 1998 in Bucharest , 1999 in Düsseldorf and 2004 in Bratislava . Noerr has had a representative office in New York since 2005 , followed by Kiev in 2007 , where the office became independent in 2013 under the name Nobles. In 2010 the firm opened an office in London , changed its legal form to a Limited Liability Partnership and changed its name to “Noerr”. Noerr has been present in Alicante , the seat of the European Union's Intellectual Property Office , since 2011. Noerr has also had its own office in Brussels since 2014 .
