Noora Salem Jasim (born November 27, 1996 ) is a Bahraini shot putter and discus thrower of Nigerian origin.

Athletic career

Noora Salem Jasim competed in her first international competition at the 2013 Arab Championships in Doha , where she won the silver medal in the shot put and came fifth in the discus throw. At the Arab Youth Championships in Cairo , she won gold in the shot put and silver in the discus throw. At the youth world championships in Donetsk , she finished ninth in the final with 16.48 m. In 2014 she won two silver medals at the Arab Junior Championships in Cairo. At the Junior World Championships in Eugene 2014, she did not qualify for the final in the shot put. At the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , she was eighth in the shot put and ninth with the discus.

In 2015 she won the gold medal with the ball at the Arab Championships in Madinat Isa with 14.97 m and the silver medal in the discus throw with 47.05 m. At the Military World Games in Mungyeong , she was eighth in the shot put and sixth with the discus. In 2016 she won the bronze medal at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha. A year later she won silver with the discus and bronze in the shot put at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku . She also qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated with 16.97 in the shot put qualification. At the Asian Championships 2017 in Bhubaneswar , she canceled her participation at short notice. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , where she won the bronze medals behind the two Chinese women Gong Lijiao and Gao Yang with a height of 17.11 m . A few days later she set a new national record in the discus competition with 51.19 m, finishing in sixth place. The following year, she improved her national record with the ball to 18.00 m at the Asian Championships in Doha, winning the silver medal behind the Chinese Gong. In the discus competition she took eighth place with a width of 46.08 m. Shortly before, she won both competitions at the Arab Championships in Cairo with 17.93 m and 46.23 m. At the beginning of October, she retired from the World Championships in Doha with 17.36 m in qualification . She then won the World Military Games in Wuhan with a width of 17.70 m behind Paulina Guba and Gao Yang from the People's Republic of China from Poland . In addition, she took sixth place in the discus competition with 49.40 m.
