Yugoslavia took part in the 6th Nordic World Ski Championships , which took place from February 5 to 10, 1929 in Zakopane , Poland , with five skiers in the official individual competitions. There was also a four-man soldier team for the military patrol plus unknown substitutes.

The Yugoslav skiers competed in the two cross-country skiing competitions over 18 and 50 km. On the short distance Joško Janša achieved the best result of his team with the 16th place. In addition, the Yugoslav participants also registered for the alpine descent .

In the military patrol run , which is not part of the world championship , the South Slavs took fifth place out of six participants.
