The Papum Pare district district is a district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh . The district administration is based in Yupia . The corresponding Hierarchical Administrative Subdivision Code (HASC) is: IN.AR.PA.
history
Papum Pare was separated from the Lower Subansiri district in 1993 and has been an independent district since then.
geography
The Papum Pare District is located in the southwest of Arunachal Pradesh. The district borders East Kameng to the west, Kurung Kumey to the north and Upper Subansiri to the east . The state of Assam is in the south. The area of the Papum Pare district is 4662 km². The main rivers in the district are Pare , Panior ( Ranganadi ) and Dikrong . In 1978 the 140 km² Itanagar Game Reserve ( Itanagar Wildlife Sanctuary ) was established.
Administrative division
The district is divided into two sub-divisions (Sagalee and Yupia capital complex), which in turn from a total of 10 circles ( circle exist). These circles are: Mengio, Leporiang, Sagalee, Toru, Kimin, Doimukh, Balijan, Tarasso, Naharlagun and Itanagar.

According to the 2011 census, the Papum Pare district has 176,573 inhabitants. In 2001 the census showed a population of 121,750. The gender distribution is 1.053. The literacy rate is 82.1%.
