The Lower Subansiri district (literally: "Lower Subansiri", Subansiri is a large river on the eastern edge of the district) is a district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh . The district administration is based in Ziro . The associated Hierarchical Administrative Subdivision Code (HASC) is: IN.AR.LS.
history
The Lower Subansiri District was formed on May 13, 1980 by dividing the Subansiri District Frontier Division .

The Lower Subansiri District is centrally located in Arunachal Pradesh. The district borders in the north on Kurung Kumey and Upper Subansiri , in the east on West Siang and in the south on the state of Assam and the district of Papum Pare . The area of the Lower Subansiri district is 3452 km².
