The Upper Subansiri district is a district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh . The district administration is based in Daporijo . The corresponding Hierarchical Administrative Subdivision Code (HASC) is: IN.AR.UB. The name Upper Subansiri means "Upper Subansiri" and refers to the Subansiri , a large river that flows through the district in a southerly direction.
history
The Upper Subansiri District was formed on May 13, 1980 by dividing the Subansiri District Frontier Division .

The Upper Subansiri district is centrally located in Arunachal Pradesh. The district borders on Tibet to the north, Kurung Kumey to the west, Lower Subansiri to the southwest and West Siang to the east . The area of the Lower Subansiri district is 7032 km².

The district is divided into two sub-divisions, Daporijo and Nacho.
