history
The district was created on February 16, 2004 by splitting off from the Lohit district.
geography
The Anjaw district is located in the far east of Arunachal Pradesh. The district borders on Lohit to the west, Tibet to the north, Myanmar to the east and Changlang to the south . The area of the Anjaw district is 6190 km². The Lohit River flows through the district.
