The East Siang District is a district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh . The seat of the district administration is Pasighat . The associated Hierarchical Administrative Subdivision Code (HASC) is: IN.AR.ES. The district name is derived from East English for "East" and Siang , the river name of the Brahmaputra between Tibet and the lowlands of Assam .

The East Siang district is centrally located in Arunachal Pradesh on the lower section of the Siang River . The district is bordered by West Siang to the west, Upper Siang to the north, Lower Dibang Valley to the east and the state of Assam to the south . The area of the East Siang district is 4005 km².

According to the 2011 census, East Siang district has a population of 99,214. In 2001 the census showed a population of 87,430. The gender distribution is 1.039. The literacy rate is 73.5%.
