Hungary registered four participants, two women and two men , for the 6th Nordic World Ski Championships , which took place from February 5 to 10, 1929 in Zakopane , Poland .

The best placement was achieved by Jules Csekey with 24th place in cross-country skiing over 18 km.

Hungary's second participant, Béla Szepes , the in Berlin living journalist and participants of the Summer Olympics in 1928 in the javelin , reached in ski jumping from the Wielka Krokiew the 30th place ski jump.

For the women’s cross-country skiing over 7 kilometers, which was practically a demonstration competition at the Zakopane World Championships, but which was not included in the official program by the FIS , the Hungarian Ski Association registered the two Szapáry, who were known in tennis and alpine skiing in the following years -Sisters. The two were the daughters of the Austro-Hungarian diplomat Friedrich von Szápáry , Marianne (actually "Maria Anna") and the mother of Marie Christine von Reibnitz , who, as the wife of Michael von Kent, belongs to the British royal family . For reasons that were not reported in detail, however, both withdrew their entries shortly before the start of the competition.
