At the 18th Nordic World Ski Championships, which were held from February 1 to 6, 1950 in Lake Placid ( New York ) and Rumford ( Maine ) in the USA , a Nordic Combined competition was carried out.
The ski jumping from the K -70 hill in the MacKenzie Intervale Ski Jumping Complex in Lake Placid took place on Saturday, February 4th 1950 in front of around 8,000 to 10,000 spectators. 40 ski jumpers took part in the competition, all of whom were able to classify.
During the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1950, the men's Nordic combined took place on two days of competition. Ski jumping on the normal hill was held on February 1st, 1950, cross-country skiing on February 3rd, 1950. Cross-country skiing was carried out together with the 18-km special cross-country skiing. 24 athletes were named, of which 24 started and 23 finished the competition. Only the first 13 placements were officially rated. In the official logs, only the points for cross-country skiing and the total number of points for the top thirteen places are listed. The remaining 10 placements are only fragmentary and are not an official result.
