The Norrporten Arena is a football stadium in the Swedish city of Sundsvall . The stadium is the home ground of the Swedish first division club GIF Sundsvall and the women's football club Sundsvalls DFF from Damallsvenskan .
The current stadium was built in 2001 and 2002 and was opened on June 9, 2002 by the Swedish King Carl XVI. Gustaf inaugurated. The stadium was initially called simply Sundsvalls Idrottspark (German: Sundsvalls Sportpark) , just like before the renovation / new construction, and was only renamed the Norrporten Arena in January 2006.
In addition to being used as a sports facility, the stadium is also a venue for concerts.
