OGK-2 ( Russian ОГК-2 , full name Оптовая генерирующая компания № 2 ; English Second Wholesale Generating Company ) is an energy company from Russia with headquarters in Solnechnodolsk near Stavropol in southern Russia .
OGK-2 employs a good 4700 people (2008). The company's turnover in 2008 was 40.6 billion rubles (about 1 billion euros), and profit before tax was 794 million rubles (just under 20 million euros). A net loss of 1.36 billion rubles (about 35 million euros) was made.
The company was founded on March 9, 2005. Almost 94% of the OGK-2 shares were initially held by the Russian company Unified Energy System . By the time it was split up in summer 2008, this proportion fell to 66.5%. Gazprom is now the largest shareholder through its subsidiary ZentrEnergoHolding (44.39% as of June 2009).
