Oberlübbe is a formerly independent municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia , which was incorporated into the new municipality of Hille as part of the municipal reform of the 1970s . Before that, Oberlübbe belonged to the Dützen office .

The place name was derived from Libbers and Lübbe in the 12th century and used to distinguish it from Unterlübbe since the 16th century .

Oberlübbe is located on the northern slope of the Wiehengebirge and borders in the south on the area of ​​the municipality of Hüllhorst , in the west on that of the city of Lübbecke ( Nettelstedt ) and the village of Eickhorst, which belongs to the municipality of Hille .
