Holzhausen II is a district of the Hille community in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

It is located north of the Mittelland Canal . In the east, Holzhausen II borders on the Stemmer district of the city of Minden , in the north on the Friedewalde district of the city of Petershagen , in the west on the Hiller district of Nordhemmern and in the south on the Hiller district of Hartum and the Minden district of Hahlen .

history

Holzhausen II was first mentioned in a document in 1089.

To differentiate between the two villages of Holzhausen an der Porta and Holzhausen in the municipality of Hille, which are in the Minden district, the Post introduced additional numbering after the Second World War : Holzhausen and Holzhausen I for Holzhausen an der Porta and Holzhausen II for Holzhausen in the Hille community.

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 Holzhausen II was a separate municipality square kilometers with a total area of 11.39 and 1,672 inhabitants and belonged to the Office Hartum in Minden . Then it was incorporated into Hille. On December 31, 2002, 1,185 residents lived here. The reduction in the number of residents results from the Bielefeld Act . Attractions

The forge Holzhausen II, the "barn of handicrafts" and the Protestant parish church are well worth seeing . The church was built in 1560 and renovated in 1965. The services alternate every 2 weeks with the Nordhemmern chapel from the early Middle Ages.

The Holzhausen II fire fighting group of the Hille volunteer fire brigade is responsible for fire protection and technical assistance in Holzhausen II . The Holzhausen II fire fighting group works together with the Hartum and Südhemmern fire fighting groups in III. Train of the Hille fire department. The fire fighting group is also active in disaster control in the Detmold district reserve.

The Holzhausen II music train is affiliated with it. Every two years it organizes a large concert in the Bürgerhalle in Holzhausen II.
