Unterlübbe is a part of the municipality Hille in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

It is located south of the Mittelland Canal and north of the Wiehengebirge . In the east Unterlübe borders on the district of Rothenuffeln , in the north on the districts of Hartum . Südhemmern and Hille, in the west to Eickhorst and in the south to the district of Oberlübbe . The federal highway 65 runs in an east-west direction through the district and connects Unterlübbe with Minden and Lübbecke .

Unterlübbe reaches up to the Bastau valley.

history

Unterlübbe is first mentioned in a document in 1029. A settlement already existed in prehistoric times, as excavations in 1985 and 1986 showed. Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 Unterlübbe was km² an independent municipality with a total area of approximately 5.20 and 821 inhabitants and belonged to the Office Dützen in Minden . Then it was incorporated into Hille. On December 31, 2002, 956 residents lived here.

Mayor

The population of Unterlübbe has been represented to the council and administration of the Hille community since 1973 by a local mayor who is elected by the Hille community council on the basis of the election results. Currently (2015) Friedrich Meyer (SPD) is the mayor.

Unterlübbe is the seat of the Wiehengebirgsmolkerei Unterlübbe , the pipe connection technology Eskate, the furniture factory Priess and also Zimmermann Blechtechnik GmbH.
