Rothenuffeln is a district of the Hille community in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .

It is located south of the Mittelland Canal and north of the Wiehengebirge . In the east Rothenuffeln borders the Haddenhausen district of the city of Minden , in the north on the Hartum district , in the west on the Unterlübbe and Oberlübbe districts and in the south on the Volmerdingsen and Wulferdingsen districts of Bad Oeynhausen . The federal highway 65 runs in an east-west direction through the district and connects Rothenuffeln with Minden and Lübbecke .

Rothenuffeln reaches up to the Bastauniederung .

history

Districts of Rothenuffeln were first mentioned in a document in 1033. According to the church book, there was a schoolmaster as early as 1671. The jointly used Rothenuffelner Mark with cattle pastures and forest was divided in a lengthy process from 1800 to 1836 for individual use.

Until the municipal reorganization on 1 January 1973 Rothenuffeln was km² an independent municipality with a total of around 7.93 and 2,331 inhabitants and belonged to the Office Dützen in Minden . Then it was incorporated into Hille. On November 8, 2008, 3500 residents lived here.

Mayor

The population of Rothenuffeln has been represented to the council and administration of the Hille community since 1973 by a mayor who is elected by the Hille community council on the basis of the election results.

After the term of office of Wilhelm Rohlfing (SPD), Wolfgang Witting (SPD) has been mayor since 2014.

Attractions

On the road to Bad Oeynhausen there is a high cross memorial for District Administrator Baron Carl von Schlotheim . Von Schlotheim was the road builder for the Minden district . The Heuerlingshaus, originally built in 1836, is also worth seeing in the spa gardens. Concerts and civil weddings take place in the culture barn.

Health resort

The so-called farmer's baths in Rothenuffeln have been known since 1739. In 1970, on the initiative of the administration, the community center was built and the spa gardens laid out. In 1977 Rothenuffeln was then recognized as a resort with a spa area. Today there are modern bathing establishments and spa houses in the district.

Sports

There are three sports clubs in Rothenuffeln : TSV Rothenuffeln offers table tennis, tennis, shooting and gymnastics. The HSG EURo is a handball club. In addition to soccer and volleyball, the CVJM Rothenuffeln also offers walking.
