Location of Wulferdingsen in Bad Oeynhausen
|
Wulferdingsen is a district of the city of Bad Oeynhausen in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia .
location
Located on the south side of the Wiehengebirge , its ridge forms the northern border to the districts of Rothenuffeln and Oberlübbe in the Hille community . To the east, Wulferdingsen borders the Volmerdingsen district , to the west to the Schnathorst and Bröderhausen districts of the municipality of Hüllhorst and to the south to the town of Löhne in the Herford district .
From a natural point of view, the place is in the northern part of the Ravensberg hill country and is part of the Eastern Wiehen Mountains .
history
On the occasion of the municipal reorganization , which came into force on January 1, 1973, the previously independent municipality of Wulferdingsen was incorporated into Bad Oeynhausen from the dissolved Office of Rehme with a total area of around 8.19 km² and 2836 inhabitants.
Bergkirchen district
Bergkirchen is a district that is at the height of the Wiehengebirge and is named after the church standing there on the ridge of the mountains, which, however, already stands on the territory of the eastern district of Volmerdingsen .
Economy and Infrastructure
Wulferdingsen owns the two industrial areas "Im Sundern" (54 ha) and "Böllingshöfen" (8 ha) with numerous medium-sized companies. Around the turn of the millennium, the then Balda Group, as a supplier for cell phone manufacturers and the automotive industry as well as a manufacturer of plastic-based medical technology, set up its production facility in Sundern, which is now used partly by its successor companies and partly by external companies.
Wulferdingsen is part of the Werste-Wulferdingsen primary school network and has a municipal kindergarten.
Attractions
Watermill Bergkirchen "Beautiful Mill"
Not its beauty, but the name of a previous owner was decisive for the naming. It is not certain when the mill was built. It is said that it was built during the Thirty Years War . The mill building is made of broken stone and bricks. An overshot water wheel (3.8 m diameter) drives the mill device. At the beginning of the 1980s the mill was restored and placed under monument protection. Coffee, cake, etc. can be consumed in the mill room on mill days.
The watermill is part of the Westphalian Mill Road and the Mill Route .
