history
In May 740, St. Boniface met his cousin, St. Willibald, in Linthart . At that time, the church in Oberlindhart, which is the patron saint of John the Baptist , was already in existence as a baptistery.
In 1758 Oberlindhart consisted of 51 properties. Hamlets and desert areas such as Holzen, Neuburg, Schöfbach, Steinrain, Waldhof and Winklmühle also belonged to the later municipality of Oberlindhart in the Mallersdorf district . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Oberlindhart was incorporated into the municipality of Pfaffenberg on April 1, 1971, which became part of the Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg market on July 1, 1972. Today Oberlindhart has around 450 inhabitants.
