history
From the income book of the Niedermünster Abbey in Regensburg , which was established in the 13th century, it can be seen that the abbess in Obfpchoven owned a large courtyard and three half- hubs , which gave the monastery a wealth of wheat, oats, hops, Gülten, weekly cheeses, Eggs, royal pennies, flax pennies and grain were dropped.
A wide variety of spellings appear for the location in the historical documents over the centuries. Among other things, there is talk of: Ubenkofen , Upfkouer , Upfkchover , Upfchouer , Uoppchofer , Upchouer , Uppchover , Upfchover , Uppehoven , Uppfchofen , Uffchoffen , Uppchoffen , Uppfkofen . In the 15th century, Upfkofen seems to have been an independent parish seat, as the pastor and the "Zech People" (church carers) are listed in the documents of Seligenthal Abbey . Later it was affiliated as a branch of the parish Ascholtshausen .
In the 16th century, Upfkofen was in the Landshut Rent Office and in the Kirchberg court. In 1820/21 the community of Upfkofen was formed, to which the hamlet of Dillkofen and the wasteland of Zaislhof also belonged. In 1823 the village of Upfkofen consisted of 32 houses, a daughter church and an inn. 130 inhabitants lived in the place. In 1925 there were already 250 residents in 47 residential buildings. With the completion of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Upfkofen came to the newly formed Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg market on January 1, 1978. In 1987 Upfkofen had 219 inhabitants.
