Obermitterdorf is a village and district of the city of Regen, seven kilometers to the southeast, in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

It is located in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park on Europastraße 53 ( B 11 and B 85 ), which leads past the site to the southwest. The nearest train station is in Triefenried, about two kilometers away, on the Bavarian Forest Railway . There are also bus connections in the direction of Regen and Viechtach through the regional bus from East Bavaria .

The closest place is the parish village of March about one kilometer to the southwest. Obermitterdorf belongs to the March parish and was part of the political municipality of March until it was incorporated into the district town of Regen on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform. The town of Sallitz is located two kilometers to the northeast .

Farms from the 19th century have been preserved in the agricultural Obermitterdorf. The courtyards in Obermitterdorf used to be grounded for the Regen churches, the Regen Erasmus brotherhood and the Rinchnach provost.
