Großseiboldsried is a district of the city of Regen ( Regen district ) in the Bavarian Forest . The hamlet has 30 inhabitants (as of 2004), has a rural character and consists of seven families, including one full-time farmer and three part-time farmers, each with cattle breeding and forestry.

geography

The village is located on a gentle slope, is completely surrounded by forest outside a meadow belt and is a station for several hiking trails. Großseiboldsried is not connected to the public sewer system. The residents therefore get their drinking water from their own wells.

The village is characterized by its connections to the village of Weißenstein , which is also reflected in the fact that many residents are active or passive members of the Weissenstein volunteer fire department .

history

The first documentary mention of the origin of Großseiboldsried comes from the year 1254. At that time the Gut Inferius Eibartsriede was mentioned in the directory of Abbot Hermann von Niederaltaich . Excerpt from the history of Weißenstein:

1347: Hartwig von Degenberg is enfeoffed with the tithe of Regen and Kirchberg . That was very important for the economic expansion of the rule. Later the tithe was redeemed and the Degenbergers were given it directly by the Duke. The following places are listed under Weißenstein: Thannhof, Nidern Czibarczriet (Großseiboldsried) - 3 estates, 1 Sölde, Obern-Czibarczriet (Kleinseiboldsried) - 1 yard, 3 estates.

At the time of conscription in 1752, Unterseiboldsried was part of the Langbruck chairmanship in the Regen district court. The two properties and the Gmain hut were owned by the Rinchnach provost , while the other three properties, as Niedernseiboldsried, were directly subordinate to the Weißenstein nursing court with the caste office there as the landlord.

In 1809/1810 the hamlet consisted of five house numbers with seven residential buildings and 15 auxiliary buildings, five of which were thatched. According to Brandassekuranz, the value was 1,930 guilders . The eight families (seven hearths) are made up of seven men, six women, eight boys, ten girls, six servants and five maids (42 residents).

When the tax districts were formed , Großseiboldsried became part of the Zell tax district in 1818 , and when the community was formed in 1821, it became part of the Eggenried community. This was renamed on October 22, 1963 in Weißenstein municipality, which was incorporated into the city of Regen on July 1, 1964 with Großseiboldsried.

Attractions

The village has a small chapel, which was presumably inaugurated in 1906 and in which May services are held every year. The interior contains a carved Marian altar and large cross-way panels. The custom of an annual pilgrimage arose around the year the chapel was inaugurated. The almost 3-hour pilgrimage leads to Greising ( Deggendorf ), with the route from Großseiboldsried via Langbruck (mill), Hochdorf, Hochbruck, Ruselberg route to Greising.
