course

The 10.7 km long stream with a catchment area of ​​12.3 km² has its source in a field north of Neusüdende in the municipality of Rastede . From there it flows in a south-westerly direction past Ofenerfeld , Metjendorf and the Wiefelstede solar park . It flows further in a southerly direction, crosses under the A28 and finally flows north of Bloherfelde into the Haaren .

Renaturation

In the early 1950s, the Ofener Bäke was piped in the area of ​​the former Oldenburg air base at 880 m . After the area of ​​the air base had been converted, plans have been drawn up by Haaren-Wasseracht for renaturation since 2009 , which were implemented in 2014. The bakery is open and has been produced close to nature It now flows meandering through a broadly excavated depression.
