Individual evidence
- ↑ “Olaf Kühl did a great job. In a sense, he synthesized the Upper Silesian dialect by transporting it into Lower Silesian, which is closer to us and more understandable in this country. Every word had to be researched, every sentence had to be checked for its authentic sound. “Drach” also presents translators with multiple challenges: a concise, sometimes karst diction interspersed with staccato, action sequences that breathlessly move back and forth in a paragraph between decades and centuries, sentences peppered with details from mining, the Gun and automobile knowledge, because the heroes, it should be noted, are mostly men. The result is a multi-layered text landscape in which the history of Upper Silesia is echoed in an unmistakable sound. "Sabine Berking in the magazine Translate , 1, 2017 (online)
