Olga Anatolyevna Uskova

Olga Anatoljewna Uskowa ( Russian Ольга Анатольевна Ускова ; born February 26, 1964 in Moscow ) is a Soviet - Russian computer scientist , university professor and entrepreneur .

Life

Uskova's father Anatol Uskow headed the Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence at Lomonosov University Moscow (MGU) and was involved in the Kaissa project. Her mother was the chief engineer of the bridge building project planning institute Gipromost . Uskowa studied 1981-1986 at the Moscow Institute for Steels and Alloys (MISiS) in the Faculty of Technical Cybernetics . This was followed by postgraduate study in which they deal with fiber optic networks for a candidate - dissertation dealt.

In 1988 Uskova became an employee of the All-Russian Research Institute of Systems Research of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , which in 1991 became the Institute of Systems Analysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

In 1992 Uskova founded the company Cognitive Technologies in Moscow , of which she became Executive Director (since 1999 President of the Cognitive Technologies Holding ). In 1993, she received a $ 1 million order from Corel Corporation to supply the CuneiForm text recognition program . Within two years, which were Hewlett-Packard - scanner in Russia with software provided by Cognitive Technologies. It came to OEM -Verträgen with Canon , Epson , Xerox , OKI , IBM , Oracle , Samsung , Corel Corporation, Olivetti eg for text recognition (OCR) and enterprise content management (ECM). Uskowa was a member of the Council for Regional Informatization and the Expert Council at the Russian Ministry of Communications from 2001-2008 . It influenced the implementation of the major state programs in the field of information technology (IT) and also the intergovernmental programs of the Commonwealth of Independent States . She became an investor in the IT park in Chernogolovka . In February 2006, she attended a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council, chaired by President Putin , on the development of Russian IT technology and convinced the President of the need to set up a venture capital fund for promising Russian projects in the field of high technology. In the same year she became the founding president of the National Association for Innovation and IT Development.

At MISiS, which had become the National University for Technology Research (NITU MISiS), Uskowa became head of the New Type Chair in Perspective Computer Technology in 2012 . Perspective technologies for project handling were introduced, creative thinking was encouraged, and programs for student social life were developed. Uskowa supervised the team of NITU MISIS for the International Collegiate Programming Contest .

Uskova was a member of the State Duma strategic information system development commission from 2013-2016 and participated in legislative work.

Uskowa initiated the Cognitive Technologies project Cognitive Pilot for intelligent driverless vehicle systems . Under her leadership, a contract was signed with Hyundai Mobis for the development of a computer vision system for 4th level autopilots . Together with the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and Rostselmasch , she initiated the development of a driverless transport system for agriculture for the Chinese market. Together with the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and KAMAZ , she is carrying out the first Russian project for a self-driving truck . In 2017 she initiated and organized one of the world's most important hackathons on the artificial intelligence of self-driving cars in Moscow .

Uskova is the chairman of the Russian Abstract Art Fund. She initiated the international project New Reality 2.0 to promote the creativity of young people. She campaigns at home and abroad for the recognition of the school of Russian abstract art founded by the artist Eli Michailowitsch Belyutin in the 1950s, which was excluded from the public during the Soviet era .
