Olivier Coqueux (born November 29, 1973 in Saumur ) is a former French - Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Wölfe Freiburg in the German Ice Hockey League from 1994 to 2009, among others .

Olivier Coqueux began his career as an ice hockey player with Briançon HC , for which he was active from 1994 to 1997. During this time he rose with his team, first in 1995 in Division 1 and then in 1997 in Ligue Magnus . After the second rise, the center left the club, however, and joined their league rivals Dogues de Bordeaux , for whom he ran up in the 1997/98 season. The attacker then played abroad for the first time when he was on the ice in the 1998/99 season for the Tucson Gila Monsters from the West Coast Hockey League and the Edinburgh Capitals from the British National League . He then stayed in other European countries, where he played for two years at Olofströms IK in the Swedish Division 1 .
In the summer of 2001, Coqueux returned to France, where he spent the following two seasons at HC Mulhouse before he was committed in the 2003/04 season by the German first division promoted Wölfe Freiburg . For the Breisgauer he played a total of 56 games in the German Ice Hockey League , in which he scored 25 points scorer, including twelve goals. After the wolves were relegated, the Frenchman left Germany again and became French champion in 2005 with his ex-club HC Mulhouse. He was able to repeat this success in 2006 with Rouen Hockey Elite 76 . From 2006 to 2009 the French international played for EfB Ishockey in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen . He then ended his career at the age of 35.
International
For France , Coqueux took part in the B World Championships in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and the A World Championships in 2004 and 2008 . He was also on the French squad to qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and 2010 in Vancouver .
