The Olympisch Zwemstadion ( German Olympic Swimming Stadium ) was a temporary swimming stadium in the Dutch capital Amsterdam .
history
The facility was built for the 1928 Summer Olympics . During the Games, the Olympic Zwemstadion the competitions were swimming , water jumping and the water polo tournament and swimming in the Modern Pentathlon held.
The reinforced concrete pool was 50 meters long, 18 meters wide and up to 5 meters deep. The grandstands at the edge of the pool offered space for up to 6000 people.
One year after the Games, the complex for the new Olympisch Kwartier housing estate was demolished.
