A total of twelve fencing competitions are to be held at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo .

For the first time at the Olympic Games, an individual and a team competition will be held for both men and women in the epee, foil and saber disciplines.

Qualification for the fencing competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics is primarily based on the FIE ranking with the deadline of April 4, 2020. Furthermore, there is the possibility of winning quota places in four continental qualifying tournaments. The following nations have already secured quota places.
