At the XXXII. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo , a softball competition will be held. So since 2008 there has been a softball competition at the Summer Olympics.

A tournament for women will be held from July 21 to 27, 2021 in which six teams will participate. The Olympic baseball tournament is a corresponding competition for men.
