Orchard Park is a city in Erie County in the US state of New York and a suburb in southeast Buffalo . According to the last census in 2010, Orchard Park had 29,054 inhabitants, the last estimate from 2016 is now at 29,629 inhabitants. There is also a village of the same name within the city limits. Orchard Park is one of the so-called "Southtowns" of Erie County.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has an area of 99.8 km² (38.5 square miles ), of which 0.21 km² (0.08 mi²) is water. The US Highway 219 runs through the western part of the city, the US Highway 20 (Southwestern Boulevard) runs through the northern part and crosses the New York State Route 277 and New York State Route 240 (Orchard Park Road).

history
In 1803 Didymus C. Kinney and his wife Phebe (Hartwell) bought land and built a hut in the area of the township , which now houses a museum. The following year, members of the Quaker religious group began to settle.
In 1850 the settlement was separated from the city of Hamburg and named after Joseph Ellicott , an agent in the service of the Holland Land Company . After a few months, the name was changed to "East Hamburgh". Around 1934, the city was finally renamed Orchard Park after its main settlement.
In the early 1900s, a fire burned down most of the Orchard Park village.
